Ernie Witham has won numerous awards including first place for humor writing and first place for screenwriting at the Santa Barbara Writer's Conference.

Ernie's presentation will include the elements to make your writing funny AND publishable, whether it’s for your novel, screenplay or humorous anecdotes.

Ernie Witham writes a humor column called "Ernie's World" for the Montecito Journal in Montecito, California. His column is syndicated through the Senior Wire News Service. He has also been published in the Los Angeles Times, the Santa Barbara News-Press, various magazines, and more than two dozen anthologies including Chicken Soup of the Soul 101 Best Stories, the Wisdom of Dads, and Not Your Mother’s Book on Travel.

Ernie Witham is the humor workshop leader at the prestigious week long Santa Barbara Writers Conference and has led other workshops in Cape Cod, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Springfield IL. He lives in Santa Barbara, California with his wife and has a large family, many of whom appear in his humor stories. He likes writing "location humor" where he goes to a place or event to find a story.

Ernie Witham has recently published his second book, A Year in the Life of a “Working” Author: A Memoir to the Best of the Recollections of Ernie Witham , a follow-up to Ernie’s World, the Book, a collection of his favorite columns.

Mr. Witham is also a past member of the Santa Barbara Humor Society, The Screenwriter's Association of Santa Barbara, Toastmasters International, Ernie Whitham brings his vast knowledge of popular humor to encourage writers to write funny.
